AUM Leadership Academy presents AUM Solutions Projects
The 2013 AUM Leadership Academy presented the AUM Solutions Projects on Nov. 1 in the Moore Hall auditorium. Each year, university administrators nominate and select their managers, deans, department heads and top leaders to attend the yearlong executive leadership training program. Led by the Alabama Training Institute, the Academy participants work throughout the program year to identify real-world solutions to challenges faced by the university. Participants shared their findings for AUM faculty, staff, students and friends at the event.
“AUM Solutions Projects give participants the opportunity to assist in providing solutions for AUM, and it engages faculty and staff by allowing each to apply management principles, lead with best practices and utilize problem-solving strategies to identify solutions that can help AUM meet the challenges presented as it navigates technological advances, addresses student preferences and seeks to expand and grow,” said Nicole Pinkham, Director of the AUM Leadership Academy. “These leaders have applied their knowledge and expertise in unique ways to identify solutions that can have a significant impact on our university.”
The presentations focused on several key areas relevant to:
- AUM’s Programs of Distinction
- Distance Learning
- Student Retention with Emphasis on Student Athletes
The Alabama Training Institute has provided comprehensive leadership training to more than 100 AUM leaders over the past five years through the AUM Leadership Academy.
