AUM Named One of the Best Colleges in the Southeast by The Princeton Review

by User Not Found | Aug 25, 2014
Auburn Montgomery is one of the best colleges in the Southeast according to
The Princeton Review. The university was one of 139 institutions in twelve Southeastern states named to the "Best in Southeast" list for 2015.

To compile the list, The Princeton Review collects data from those who know a university best – the students. Only schools that allow the company to independently survey its students are eligible for consideration. Current students are asked to rate their personal experiences on several issues, from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of their science lab facilities.

In its profile on AUM, The Princeton Review states, “It’s easy to understand why undergraduates are attracted to Auburn University at Montgomery. After all, from the moment you set foot on campus, it’s evident that this is a school where professors and administrators are genuinely interested in students’ learning and development.”

AUM students stated the university is “perfect” for individuals “who appreciate an interactive learning environment” and seek “opportunities to work closely with faculty.”  Students also included “small classes” and “personalized education” among the university’s assets. AUM faculty received high marks, with students saying they find their teachers to be “engaging” and “friendly,” though “demanding,” and the majority of professors “seem to really enjoy teaching” and are “always willing to help a student who wants to learn.”  An impressed English major added, “They have been highly
supportive, and are always excited to go the extra mile if you want to learn more information outside of the planned course.”

Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's senior vice president and publisher, said the list is created to help prospective college students make their college choice. "We developed our Best Colleges: Region by Region lists to offer guidance for the growing number of students and parents now seeking colleges closer to home. We selected AUM, and the other terrific institutions on our 'regional best' lists,
primarily for their excellent academic offerings."
