AUM students eligible for Auburn football season tickets

AUM Connected wants pictures of you reading Big Fish

AUMConnectedLogo_blastConnected, AUM's Common Reading Program, is sponsoring the "Picture Me Reading" contest to spotlight AUM's dedicated readers. Take a picture of yourself reading Connected’s 2014-15 common reading selection Big Fish, by Daniel Wallace, and you could win a prize! Photos may be taken in any setting but must be tasteful and appropriate for posting on Connected's Facebook page. Be creative! Connected will post all photos as they are received, and the deadline for submissions is Aug. 1. Email all photo submissions to Dr. Lee A. Farrow at Winners will be determined by the AUM Connected committee and the number of "likes" received. Like "AUM Connected" on Facebook to stay informed about upcoming Connected events.

Inaugural convocation for new AUM students set for Aug. 22

Auburn Montgomery will host its first-ever new student convocation on Friday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. in the Athletic Complex for all first-year, transfer, and international students that begin studies at AUM in the fall. All faculty are encouraged to attend and participate in the procession (without regalia) to symbolize the importance of the AUM academic experience. Additionally, all offices that are able to close should plan to do so in order to attend. More information will be sent in the coming months. Grab your paddles and head to the annual Dragon Boat races on Aug. 23

DragonBoatRace2012_blastAuburn Montgomery is once again a proud sponsor of the annual Dragon Boat Races on the Alabama River, and all of Warhawk Nation is invited to come out and enjoy a day on the river and cheer AUM teams to victory. This year's teams are manned by the Confucius Institute and Outreach. The event begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Riverfront Park downtown, with Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange's opening remarks, followed by AUM students performing the "Dragon Dance." This is the fifth year the Dragon Boats have raced in Montgomery, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
