Carolyn C. Golden
Vice Chancellor for Advancement
Carolyn, a Kentucky native, made Montgomery her home 12 years ago. She has worked as a fundraiser for higher education and non-profits for nearly 20 years. She began her career with Auburn University in 1998 and established the university’s Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations in 1999. In 2004, she assumed the role of Senior Director of Regional Campaigns for the $500 million "It Begins at Auburn" Campaign. Under her leadership, the regional campaigns generated more than $28 million. In 2007, Carolyn became Vice Chancellor for Advancement at Auburn Montgomery, where she leads the university’s alumni and development efforts. Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree from University of Central Texas and a graduate degree in management from Faulkner University. She has also done post-graduate coursework at Auburn University. When she’s not working, Carolyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and knitting. She is also a spinning enthusiast and is a certified instructor.
Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement
Marilyn received her bachelor’s degree in business and M.B.A. from Auburn University at Montgomery and she feels she has come back home. Her previous positions included director of finance and director of public relations and financial development for Children’s Harbor and, most recently, senior director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Auburn University. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Her primary responsibilities include developing financial resources for the university and keeping alumni and friends engaged with Auburn Montgomery.
Senior Development Officer
Martie joined the Office of Advancement from her alma mater, Huntingdon College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. At Huntingdon, she served as director of Alumni Advancement and the Annual Fund. An avid tennis player and fan, Martie has served as the Local League Coordinator for the Montgomery USTA League since 1992. Originally from Montgomery, she married her high school sweetheart, Mark, and after a short time in Huntsville, they have made their home in Montgomery since 1988. She and Mark have two daughters, Carter and Laura, both students at Auburn University. They are active members of First United Methodist Church, where Martie serves on the Worship Committee and as an Adult Sunday School Teacher.
Martie is on the board of the Central Alabama Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and graduated from the AUM Leadership Academy in 2012.
