The Auburn University at Montgomery Athletic Department will once again partner with the “Champion-ship Holiday Gift Drive” and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s “Christmas for Kids Campaign” to collect toys for members of the community who might not have Christmas otherwise.
For the next three men’s and women’s home basketball games, all fans who bring a new toy will receive
free admission to the games. The Warhawks will be in action three times throughout November, as they will host Lee on Friday, Nov. 16, Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Young Harris on Tuesday, Nov.r 27.
The AUM Physical Education Complex will serve as one of several local drop points for toys during the weeks to come. Donations for the drive will continue to be accepted in the Athletic Department Office, room 115, until
noon on
Friday, Dec. 7.
On Saturday, December 1, AUM student-athletes and staff will assist the Montgomery Sheriff’s Department collect toys at Chantilly Parkway Walmart from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The “Champion-ship Holiday Gift Drive” will conclude on Wednesday, Dec. 12, when AUM student-athletes and staff help distribute gifts to residents of local nursing homes.
