What is Learning Comes First (LCF)?

LCF is a unique residential community that provides a built-in academic and social network for new AUM students. Any fall incoming freshmen may apply. The program requires living on campus on LCF-designated floors. There is no additional cost. You pay only the normal rent for Housing. But apply soon—space is limited. You will be considered only after you have

been admitted as a first-time freshman
submitted a housing application and the application fee
completed the form below

What are the benefits of Learning Comes First?

Make Friends Fast

All LCF students will live on the same
floor in The Commons.

Be Part of a Learning Community

LCF students take the majority of their
classes together, giving you a close,
convenient study group.

Free Use of a Laptop

The laptop is yours to use throughout your
freshman year.

Accrue Points

LCF students earn points for attending
programs on leadership as well as fun athletic
and cultural events. Those points put you
in the running for housing scholarships and
awards.

Learn and Play!

Learning Comes First students will register
for a free hybrid course that will enable
them to keep up with LCF “assignments:” any
mandatory programs, semi-monthly service
projects, short quizzes, etc. Performance
in this class and its related activities
are a determining factor for end-of-the-year
awards and scholarships.

Tutoring at No Additional Cost

Trained tutors will be on site to help when
you need assistance with a course.

Attend an exclusive overnight summer

orientation.

Students who have been accepted
to the LCF program are invited to a special
orientation in The Commons. They register
for classes, meet potential roommates and
get a preview of LCF activities before
attending a standard summer orientation
session the next morning.
