Green Alliance

What is the AUM Green Alliance?

The AUM Green Alliance is a student-governed group dedicated to preserving the environment for future generations. Through on-campus projects and activities, the Green Alliance strives to increase student awareness and participation of going green. Involvement with students, other campus organizations, faculty, and staff plays a key role in achieving this blooming organization’s green goals.

Benefits of joining the Green Alliance

In addition to becoming part of an organization striving toward a green movement, members of the Green Alliance gain many benefits, including those of joining a campus organization:

  • NETWORKING presents the opportunity to meet people from other organizations and make connections that may be helpful in the future.
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS are developed through the numerous officer positions held by the members of the organization.
  • COMMUNITY SERVICE from volunteer work is available, which allows people to gain community service hours for other organizations that may require them.
  • A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP applies to everyone who joins.
  • A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT follows members wherever they may go, even after leaving AUM. Seeing the environment every day serves as a reminder of the difference made by joining the Green Alliance.
  • OTHER BENEFITS emerge everyday as a member.

How to help/join the Green Alliance?

The Green Alliance welcomes everyone as members! Members volunteer and participate at Green Alliance events, attend meetings, encourage others to go green, and eat lots of wheat grass! Well, not everybody does the last one, but everyone can! To join, just send an email expressing your interest and contact information to aumgreen@aum.edu!

Nonmembers are invited to contribute to the Green Alliance as well. Volunteers are always welcome! Simply send an email toaumgreen@aum.edu to receive more information.

Currently, we have a few officer positions open. If you are interested in becoming an officer within the Green Alliance, please email us a statement of interest and a brief paragraph about yourself.
