| AUM Family Campaign reaches 'amazing' level in 2009 Auburn Montgomery’s 2009 Family Campaign, A Very Brady Campaign, achieved levels of unprecedented giving, with 81 percent of the AUM community giving back. In the past two years, AUM’s campaign numbers have risen dramatically, from 17 percent in ’06 to 26 percent in ’07, and then to 70 percent in ’08. more |

| Chancellor appoints Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Keivan Deravi has been selected to serve as interim vice chancellor for Academic Affairs while a search for a person to serve as provost and chief academic officer is completed. Deravi is a professor in the Department of Economics and a special assistant to the chancellor. He came to Auburn Montgomery in 1985 as an assistant professor in Economics. In addition to his academic career, he has served as the director of Auburn Montgomery's Center for Government and as a consultant to the state finance director. Deravi is the architect of the Alabama Economic Forecasting Model, which is used to generate forecasts for the state’s major economic variables, and he is a noted authority on economic issues whose opinion regularly is sought across Alabama and throughout the country.

| Dr. Janet Warren Service Award Dr. Janet Warren, vice chancellor of Academic Affairs, reacts to news from Dr. Jennifer Brown, dean of the School of Education, that Education's annual Service Award has been renamed the Janet S. Warren Service Award. The announcement was made at the school's annual Honors and Awards Day recently. Warren will retire this summer after 36 years of service to Auburn University at Montgomery. She spent most of her career in the School of Education, where she served as a professor; director of Early Childhood, Elementary and Reading Education; and dean. |

| School of Liberal Arts Honors John Roach as Outstanding Alumnus Noted Texas district attorney John Roach returned to Auburn Montgomery after 38 years Monday to be recognized as the School of Liberal Arts’ first honoree as a Distinguished Alumnus. Roach, who earned his degree while AUM was still located in downtown Montgomery, challenged students to master traits such as integrity, character, critical thinking and tenacity in order to be successful. “If you apply what I’ve talked about and what you learn here, ‘our standard is excellence’ will be more than a slogan.
