The details
Auburn Montgomery’s Alternative Masters of Education program is designed for individuals who desire a master's degree and a State of Alabama Class A teaching certificate. In addition to regular admission requirements, you must meet specific course content requirements and have an overall grade point average of 2.5 on all work prior to graduate admission.
Which area is right for you?
Childhood Education | prepares you with specific skills for guiding the development of young children from infancy through the elementary school years, preschool through grade 6. This includes early childhood and elementary education. |
| Secondary Education | prepares you to teach in grades 6-12 in biology, chemistry, English language arts, general science, general social science, history or mathematics. |
| Special Education | prepares you with the specific skills needed for teaching children, adolescents and young adults who have specific disabilities. Programs are: Early Childhood Special Education (serves children form birth to 8 years), Collaborative Teacher K-6; and Collaborative Teacher Grades 6-12. |
