Education Specialist (Ed.S.)
The School of Education prepares professional educators who are competent, committed and reflective and is committed to providing challenging opportunities for a diverse learning community in a nurturing environment.
To earn your Education Specials degree and/or Class AA certification, you will complete a planned program of work beyond the master's degree .
Your specific courses are determined by the School of Education advisor based on your needs and goals as well as departmental requirements.
You must meet Class A certification requirements prior to admission in the area in which you are pursuing the Ed.S. program. You also must submit an official verification of satisfactory teaching experience.
AA Level Certificate
Purpose: Provide advanced graduate work for teachers and administrators in areas related to school settings. Specific courses are determined by the advisor based on departmental requirements and the student's needs and goals.
Early Childhood | extends your professional knowledge for teaching children from preschool through third grade. |
Elementary Education | extends your professional knowledge for teaching children from kindergarten through sixth grade. |
| Instructional Leadership | prepares certified teachers to be instructional leaders and administrators in school settings grades preschool through 12. |
| Special Education | extends knowledge of the specific skills needed for teaching children, adolescents and young adults who have specific disabilities. Programs are: Collaborative Teacher K-6 and Collaborative Teacher Grades 6-12. |
