Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety:
Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety with an option in Homeland Security. Excellent preparation for a career in homeland security and emergency management, this program is designed to prepare emergency first-responders and those who lead them with the special knowledge and skills for anticipating and handling threats to public security and safety. There is the option to complete this degree entirely online; however, some courses are offered in traditional classroom format as well.
Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety with an option in Judicial Administration. Approved by the American Bar Association, this option can prepare you either for admission to law school or for a career as a paralegal, legal assistant or judicial administrator. You will earn an ABA-approved paralegal certificate upon completion of the necessary courses.
- Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety with an option in Criminal Justice. This Option provides an overview of the criminal justice system as well as a deeper understanding of law enforcement, security, corrections and juvenile justice career fields. The Online Accelerated Executive Master's program for working criminal justice professionals allows you to earn your master's online in just 12 months, while the Traditional Master's allows you to take your classes on campus where you can interact more readily with your professors and other students.
Master of Political Science: This program will raise your understanding of governments and governing procedures and problems. It is designed for students with varied undergraduate backgrounds and translates well for those with career interests in education, the law, government, journalism or quasi-public organizations.Master of Public Administration: The MPA provides knowledge and skills for successfully managing both public and nonprofit organizations. It is for those with a strong background in the social sciences, business administration, the health sciences, urban studies or planning.
Master of International Relations:This master’s degree emphasizes contemporary international politics, American foreign policy, national security policy, comparative government and area or regional studies. It is designed primarily to serve the military officers and enlisted men and women assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base, as well as their spouses and dependents. Civilian employees of the Department of Defense and other executive departments of the U.S. Government assigned to Maxwell are also eligible. Other civilians may apply on a space available basis.
Master of Science in Psychology: The Psychology master’s degree offers expertise in clinical psychology and general psychology and includes the option of writing a thesis or doing practicum – depending on your career and educational goals.
Ph.D. in Public Administration & Public Policy: This joint program is offered by Auburn University at Montgomery's Department of Political Science and Public Administration (PSPA) & Auburn University's Department of Political Science, 50 minutes away. Students may choose whichever campus is most convenient to take the majority of their courses.
