Exercise Science | prepare for a career or advanced study in exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, physician assistance, corporate fitness, health promotion, fitness centers, human performance, research, strength and conditioning and personal training. |
Physical Education
(P-12)
| prepare for Alabama teacher certification for a career teaching physical education - from the pre-school level through high school. The academic program consists of courses and practical work, including methods, technique-based classes and a comprehensive, “real world” internship. Graduates go on to teach physical education and/or coach in the school setting. |
Sport Leadership | prepares instructors and administrators for non-school settings such as pre-physical therapy, corporate fitness programs, sports management, recreational coaching, professional arenas and rehabilitation programs. Not a certification area. |
Sport Management | gain knowledge and experience in the organization and administration of sports and athletics at all levels. Sport Management, which an emphasis area within Sport Leadership, requires courses in business as well as physical education. |
