AUM’s Pearson and Seibel to lead Alabama Conference of Theatre
Two members of Auburn Montgomery’s Department of Communication and Dramatic Arts, Katie Pearson, theater coordinator, and Neil David Seibel, director of performance studies and assistant professor, will lead the Alabama Conference of Theatre for the next two years. Pearson will serve as president beginning January 2010 (she is currently president-elect). Seibel was recently elected at the ACT state summit to serve as president-elect starting in January, and will become president in 2011.
ACT serves the purpose of improving the quality of theatre arts on all levels throughout the State of Alabama; encouraging the further development of theatre arts activity; creating a closer relationship among theater arts people at all levels; training audiences to a greater appreciation of theatre arts; and cooperating and maintaining a close, helpful relationship with other individuals and organizations within or without the State of Alabama, who entertain an interest in theatre arts.
