Burnfield Named SSAC Defensive POTW

MONTGOMERY—Daisy Burnfield has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior from Longstock, England recorded six saves in a driving rainstorm as Auburn University at Montgomery and Brenau University played to a double-overtime scoreless draw.

The shutout was Burnfield’s fifth of the season and she now has 58 saves while only allowing 13 goals in 1,205 minutes of action. It is the second time this season Burnfield has received the weekly honor.
