MONTGOMERY—Amber Elam scored two goals and Tschana Wade added a goal and an assist to lead Auburn University at Montgomery to a 5-1 win over Thomas University.
AUM scored three times in the first half with Kristen Mitchell opening the scoring in the 22nd minute with an unassisted goal from right in front of the net.
In the 30th minute Helga Franklinsdottir added a goal on a penalty kick and Elam’s first goal of the match off an assist from Wade ended the first half scoring.
Elam scored her second goal of the match to open the scoring in the second half and Wade scored in the 67th minute off an assist from Alexandra Tomasdottir.
Thomas avoided the shutout in the 88th minute when Rachel Fell scored on a penalty kick.
AUM outshot the visitors 32-7 and Daisy Burnfield, who started in goal, recorded two saves, and Jennifer Davis, who played the second half, recorded one.
The 16th ranked Lady Senators move to 12-3-1 overall and Thomas falls to 7-8-1. The Lady Senators will host Lindsey Wilson College this Saturday at noon. With Saturday being Halloween, all fans are encouraged to wear their favorite outfit.
