Senators Basketball Falls at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss.—The University of Mississippi shot 68% (23-34) from the field in the second half in defeating Auburn University at Montgomery 102-62 in an exhibition game at Ole Miss.
AUM actually led 38-35 at halftime and at the 17:35 mark the game was even at 41, but the University of Mississippi out scored the Senators 64-19 the rest of the way.
The hot shooting Rebels were even hotter from beyond the three point line in the second half; connecting on 10 of 14 three’s after only hitting one of 12 in the first half.
As hot as Ole Miss was in the first half, the Senators were just as cold. AUM only connected on eight of 29 field goal attempts in the second half and only hit one of 12 three point attempts.
Chris Warren led the Ole Miss attack with 22 points while Trevor Gaskins and Terrico White had 16 each. Eniel Polynice added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Nathan Thomas and Charles Perona paced the AUM offense with 15 points each. AUM’s leading scorer, Daniel Quinlan, struggled from the field only hitting one field goal in 10 attempts and finishing with three points.
The taller Rebels out rebounded AUM 53-37 and had six blocked shots.
The Senators will jump back into regular season action on Monday night when they travel to Mobile to face Spring Hill College at 7 p.m.
