Hope Handley Clark has taken over the reigns of the highly-successful program and enters her third season at the helm after replacing Wulf Dieter-Koch as the fourth head coach in the history of the program.
The Auburn University at Montgomery Lady Senators soccer program began as a thought in the late 90s, and has blossomed into one of the nation's elite.
The Lady Senators burst onto the scene, and in the national rankings, in 2002 as they qualified for their first-ever NAIA National Tournament. In that national tournament, the Lady Senators defeated NAIA-power Berry College 1-0 before falling in the quarterfinals to eventual national champion, Westmont College, 2-1 in double overtime.
In 2004, the Lady Senators returned to the NAIA National Tournament as the seventh-seed and were eliminated in the second round of the tournament. This past season the Lady Senators exceeded expectations when they finished second in the conference and third in the NAIA Region XIII tournament.
In their first 10 years of existence, the Lady Senators have captured five conference championships and four conference tournament championships. They have also finished as NAIA Region XIII champions on one occasion, and as NAIA Region XIII runner-ups on two different occasions.
