Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is composed of AUM students of all majors and class rankings. SGA serves the university by representing the entire spectrum of the student body, organizing and directing student concerns through the proper channels, and working to provide students with the resources they need to succeed. The SGA provides students with an organized voice in matters regarding the university at large. In short: The SGA is the voice of the student body.

  • SGA conducts regular SPEAK Forums, where students are able to voice their concerns to the SGA in an open, relaxed environment
  • Sponsors Scholarships
  • Hosts Forums
  • Co-sponsors Homecoming, SpringFest, and Welcome Week
  • Affiliated with STARS-Higher Education Partnership

Meetings

The Student Government Association meets every other week in 326 Taylor Center. All meetings are open to the public.

SGA is a program of the Office of Student Activities within the department of Student Life.

SGA Senate Meeting Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 5:30 PM in 326 Taylor Center.

Become a member of the AUM SGA!

General Elections are held every Spring for Senate and Executive Council Positions.  Presidential Executive Cabinet members are interviewed by the Executive Council and then appointed by the President.  Freshman Senator and special elections are held in the Fall.
