Grievance Procedures
If you feel that you are being excluded from participation in, being denied the benefits of, or being subjected to discrimination solely because of your disability, the following steps are suggested:
1. Contact the person(s) considered to be the source of the problem as soon as possible after the complained of event and discuss your concerns.
2. If the situation cannot be resolved, contact the Center for Disability Services (CDS) Director or Student Services Coordinator to schedule an appointment to discuss your concerns.

3. If you feel that your concern still has not been addressed to your satisfaction, it is suggested that you make an appointment with the AUM 504 Compliance Officer and share your concern. The AUM 504 Compliance Officer will inform all involved parties of his or her progress, findings or resolution within 10 business days.

Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, you have the right at any point in this procedure to file a formal written complaint with the Office of Civil Rights within 180 calendar days of the date of the alleged discrimination.
