Learning Center
The Learning Center provides the AUM student community with FREE one-on-one tutoring in mathematics, English as a Second Language, and writing in any course.
Consultations center on teaching students how to solve their math problems or how to plan a paper, structure it , and research ideas for it, as well as how to recognize recurring errors so they can edit and proofread their own papers more effectively.
In addition to tutoring, the Center’s staff also provides student clients with a variety of helpful learning tools.
Daily additions of new web sites that are helpful to students in mathematics and English.
Textbook publishers' ancillary software for mathematics.
A wide variety of technology to supplement one-on-one tutoring services. Students may work on their own or with the help of a tutor while using computer-assisted English tutorials.
A collection of printed handouts to assist students in English grammar/mechanics and essay development/writing.
For Students Near the Nursing Building (Moore Hall):The Learning Center has tutors available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
For Students Living in AUM Housing: The Learning Center has tutors available Mondays/Wednesdays 12:30 - 4:30 and Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:30 - 7:30.
For Students Near the Library: The Learning Center now has tutors available at the corner table of the Library Lobby Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
