AUM’s School of Business maintains prestigious AACSB International Business accreditation
The Auburn Montgomery School of Business has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
Only 57 schools of business, or less than 5 percent worldwide, have maintained this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.
To maintain accreditation a business program must undergo a rigorous internal review every five years, during which the program must demonstrate its continued commitment to the 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources and interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.
“The standards to maintain AACSB accreditation are extremely challenging, and the faculty, staff and students should be commended for this significant accomplishment,” said Dr. Jane Goodson, dean of the AUM School of Business.
A team of business deans reviewed the School of Business’ maintenance report, conducted an on-site visit and made the accreditation recommendation recognizing AUM’s high quality throughout both the graduate and undergraduate programs.
“The faculty is well-qualified, students are enthusiastic, excited and motivated, and members of the advisory board are extremely pleased with the quality of graduates from AUM’s business programs,” the team reported.
Goodson said the school has been able to move toward even higher levels of excellence because of partnerships and support of advisory board members, the business and government communities, donors, university administration and other university units.
