Edging out college teams from across the South, Tyler Strock and Dalton Darnell of the AUM Anglers had the top catch after day one of the South Super Regional bass fishing tournament. The event, part of the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series, was held March 9 and 10 at Lake Guntersville, Ala. Strock and Darnell's bag weighed 28 pounds, 10 ounces, at the end of the day on Friday. The duo held a one-pound, 12-ounce lead over the second place team from Bethel University in spite of mechanical and weather problems that initially threatened to slow them down.
At the close of the two-day event, Strock and Darnell finished with an impressive 16th place, catching a total weight of 37 pounds, 2 ounces. AUM's Jacob Nummy and Larry Haag also finished strong in 36th place. Daniel Green and Jonathan Scott finished 60th with Corey Pierce and Tom Frink close behind in 63rd. Congratulations to the AUM Anglers for a strong showing!
