AUM’s spring 2014 term began Wednesday two days behind schedule, due to campus closing Jan. 6-7 in response to inclement weather. Here's a few updates on how this is impacting the first week of class.
Registration and Payments:
The registration cancellation deadline has been extended until close of business Jan. 15. While Jan. 10 is still the official due date, payments can continue to be made until Jan. 15 to avoid registration cancellation. The payment plan will remain open for enrollment with no late enrollment fee until Jan. 15.
Additionally, the Registrar’s Office has adjusted the dates for the refund period and last date to drop. Students will now have until Jan. 11 to add classes without a memorandum form. The 100 percent refund period for 1st half-term classes will now end on Jan. 9 and for full-term classes on Jan. 12.
The graduation application deadline has been extended to Jan. 24.
The last day for new students to apply for late admission for spring term was Jan. 6. Previously enrolled students, however, may still meet with their advisor this week about re-enrolling this spring.
The Financial Aid Office began disbursing financial aid to AUM student accounts on Jan. 7. The Cashier Office will begin processing any refunds due later this week.
There were long lines at the campus bookstore for the first day of classes, despite the store’s attempt to lighten traffic by opening the previous weekend. The bookstore will be open as follows for the rest of the week: Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
