| Prior to joining the faculty of AUM in January 2011, Dr. Harris-Fain worked as a reference book writer and editor at Bruccoli Clark Layman in Columbia, South Carolina (1993–1995) and as an English professor at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio (1995–2010). His specialty is British and American literature since the late nineteenth century, and his scholarship focuses on genre fiction and popular culture. His publications include Understanding Contemporary American Science Fiction: The Age of Maturity—1970–2000 (University of South Carolina Press, 2005); three edited volumes on British fantasy and science fiction writers for the Dictionary of Literary Biography; and contributions on science fiction, fantasy, horror, comics and graphic novels, and film and television to nearly twenty books. |
