| Judith Kamnikar joined the accounting faculty in 1985. She has a bachelors degree and masters degree from Northern Illinois University and a Ph.D. from the University of Denver. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Government Financial Manager, and a Certified Government Finance Officer. Dr. Kamnikar teaches financial reporting for business organizations and governmental/non-profit organizations. She has worked in public accounting and for public sector organizations. Professor Kamnikar has published articles in The Government Accountants Journal, Public Productivity & Management Review, The Practical Accountant, The National Public Accountant, and Annual Advances in Business Cases. Her current research activities, as Lowder-Weil Scholar, will create a financial and statistical data base to facilitate the development/establishment of performance benchmarks and industry standards for Alabama Counties and Cities. Dr. Kamnikar is a frequent discussion leader in continuing education courses for government finance officials and CPAs in the southeast region. She has been extensively involved in professional accounting activities with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Not-for-Profit Committee), the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (Board Member), the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (Secretary, Board Member, Committee Chair), and has recently served as President of the Government Finance Officer’s Association of Alabama and President of the Association of Government Accountants, Montgomery Chapter |
