| Dr. Long is originally from Montgomery and has been at AUMsince 2002. Daughter of a career Air Force sergeant, she has lived in numerous states and abroad. Her research interests include Golden Age Spanish Literature and culture, Don Quixote, colonial Mexican literature and culture, and the Novel of the Mexican Revolution. She is also the Lay Hispanic Minister for the Montgomery area Episcopal churches and has been actively involved in immigrant rights. She has published two books (Sor Juana/Musica: How the Décima Musa Composed, Practiced and Imagined Music, 2008; Sor Juana/Polímata, 2013) as well as numerous articles in scholarly journals and book chapters.
