2010 – Present Auburn University at Montgomery Montgomery, AL , Senior Institutional Research Officer. Perform all state and federal mandated reporting, IPEDS, US News, Petersons, College Board, NCAA, etc surveys and others on demand. Report to the Dean of Enrollment on Freshman cohort retention, and other student success. Ensure Data integrity in the Data Warehouse, working closely with the Registrar at both Semester beginnings and end. Create the college Fact Book, Common Data Set and Institutional Research web pages. In order to do this, queries are created using SQL MS Access is used to obtain Data Sets for display in Excel, with qualitative analysis in SPSS. The college uses Sungard’s Banner as its database. I query live data using Student Banner on a regular basis. As part of our SACS Fifth year review, I provide most of the student data - both current and historical.
2007 – 2010 Lane College Jackson, TN , Director of Assessment & Planning Implement and administer all college-wide assessments including incoming freshman pre-school testing, sophomore proficiency testing and other assessments in support of the schools SACS reaffirmation process due in 2012/2013. Preparation of a results based five year strategic plan, revision of documents of the college, including the current Staff Manual. As part of the reaffirmation process, I participated on the team to develop the QEP program. I also served as the assessment coordinator for a special project implemented by ETS (Educational Testing Services of Princeton, NJ) in association with Tennessee State University and the city schools of Jackson, Tennessee. The assessment Coordinator provides leadership in determining the effectiveness of the Math emphasis project in grades preK - 4. Additionally, I served as the assessment coordinator for the Teacher Education program at Lane College, preparing for a review by the State of Tennessee. The review is based on the NCATE standards, although Lane College was not seeking NCATE certification.

As director of a federally funded research project for Bedford County Public Schools, I successfully developed various proposals for federal funding. As the administrator for two of the projects, I created and administered budgets, created annual reports, trained and supervised staff.

Auburn University at Montgomery is located about 45 miles from our main campus. We are a college of almost 6000 students. A Carnegie classified Large Masters school, we serve a diverse population. My position is part of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness; we report to the Provost. All institutional reports are originated in my office, IPEDS, state, other federal reports and SACS.
My office also generates data for the Delaware Study, an analysis of faculty teaching load by School - Department - Level - Instructor Classification and yearly expenses. Another study that we perform is the CUPA Report that compares department costs across various peer groups.
Lane College is a four year liberal arts college. Founded in 1882, it is one of the nations premier HBCU’s, enrolling more than 2000 students in the fall of 2009. As part of the President’s Cabinet, my position touched upon all divisions and units of the school. One of the major tasks for the Director of Assessment and Planning is the yearly production of the Goals and Objectives document, which is in direct response to the Mission Statement of the school.
With the Department of Institutional Research, the Director of Assessment works closely with all faculty and staff.
Lynchburg College is a four-year liberal arts college with approximately 2400 students in its bachelors and masters programs. As Director of Institutional Research, it was my duty to perform all mandated reports and Ad Hoc report requests. Reporting to the State Council for Higher Education of Virginia, there are approximately twenty reports and/or surveys that my office produced each year, and about ten that are completed by other departments that I was responsible for formatting and submitting. In addition to the IPEDS initiative, there were various other external surveys that were my responsibility. Many used data from the Common Data Set that I generated. I also maintained and updated the college fact book. Periodic internal and external surveys were created and compiled by the Office of Institutional Research. We also provided assistance in the CLA assessment program administered to freshmen in the fall and seniors in the spring.
