| Robert C. Evans (Ph.D., Princeton University), Distinguished Teaching Professor, Distinguished Research Professor, and second AUM Alumni Professor, is the author or editor of more than twenty books, including volumes on Ben Jonson, seventeenth-century women writers, and various other topics. He has published over two hundred articles and notes in print and/or online. He specializes in literature of the English Renaissance and literary theory but has also published on late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British and American literature, particularly short fiction and poetry. He is especially interested in collaborative work with students. In 2006 he was named “Outstanding Teacher” by the South Atlantic Association of Departments of English (SAADE). Recent projects include a two-volume study of 150 great American novels, three books on Shakespeare, and a handbook on seventeenth-century literature (co-edited with Dr. Eric Sterling). In 2011, he was appointed Ida Belle Young Professor, AUM's highest academic honor. |
