| Dr. Djamba holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Sociology from Louisiana State University. He also earned two bachelor degrees in Demography and Engineering, as well as several certificates in Population Policy Communications, Leadership and Change, Community Studies, SPSS, and Excellence in Teaching with Technology.
He has previously worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin, Research Associate at the Population Studies and Training Center at Brown University, and has taught at Tuffs University in Massachusetts, Rhode Island College, and Southeastern Louisiana University. He has an extensive record of publications in the areas of sexual behavior and HIV/AIDS, marriage and family, migration and labor force participation.
He is a member of several national and international professional associations and has received several research grants from different sources including the World Health Organization, Population Council, Population Reference Bureau, American Sociological Association, Ms. Foundation for Women, and World Vision. Dr. Djamba has served as an international consultant for the United Nations Statistics Division. He is fluent in French and three other languages. |
