Whether you are planning a simple meeting or a multi-day event, the best place to start is to consider some basic questions to help you begin organizing your event:
•What is the goal or purpose of the event?
This will help you decide the best location to accommodate your event needs. Conference rooms are best for any reception/banquet/food service events, since food is generally not allowed in any auditoriums, classrooms, or computer labs, and conference spaces can be uniquely setup to best suit almost any style you may be looking for.
•Who is your audience?
Are you trying to reach students, faculty/staff, general public? Depending on who your audience is, certain locations may not fit your desired reach.
•When is the best time to hold your event?
It is important to consider class schedules and University events when planning your event. A glance over the Academic Calendar or Events Calendar may prove useful.
•What resources are available to you?
We offer a wide variety of facilities, event setup, full service catering, Wi-Fi access, state-of-the-art audio visual services, event registration and sign in, along with friendly customer support.
Conference and Campus Services is here to assist you with the preparation of your event and any other event needs. During this process, please keep in mind that you and your group are responsible for all aspects of your event.
Ready for the first step? Simply fill out the Auburn University at Montgomery Facilities Request Form.You will receive email notifications letting you know that you have begun the request process and that you have completed the request. Conference and Campus Services will send out your confirmation within 3 to 5 business days.
ATTENTION: To better serve the AUM Community, Conference and Campus Services is working through rolling out a new and improved online request form for Fall 2014. To assist us with this transition, please access the new conference and event request portal here.
- Make sure that you have planned ahead. Depending on the size and type of event, additional steps may be required on your part, and additional review may be required by AUM Event Risk Assessment Committee to book your event.
- Take advantage of the help Conference and Campus Services team members can offer. Seek out our input and ideas, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Our expertise in event planning may be just the ticket to help you secure a successful event.
- It’s ok to shop around! We are confident that our facilities and services simply cannot be paralleled in customer satisfaction and professionalism, all at incredible rates unheard of this side of I-85.
Lodging for AUM Conference and Campus Services is available at great prices and is conveniently located off I-85 in a prominent area of east Montgomery. On-campus and off-campus groups are welcome.
