What is an interesting fact about yourself?

That I studied bat reproductive behavior and physiology in graduate school, and bats are still a fascination of mine.

What part of AUM do you enjoy the most?

Picking one answer is a challenging task when you like AUM so much! I am sure this answer is cliche', but I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, so teaching here is a dream come true. I can't imagine doing anything else. My position here at AUM is a perfect fit. I love sharing the wonders of biology with my students and just getting to know about them on a personal level. Everyone's story is unique. I know this question asked for one answer, but another big part of what I enjoy about AUM is how the people in my department support each other, which is very important especially now with the changes that we are enduring. We need to "have each others' back" to make our department a place where the faculty, staff, and students thrive.

If you could do anything in the world, what would you do?

Another tough question; this can be taken in so many ways and my list is long in every way. If money was no object and I was guaranteed to succeed, I, of course, would do something fulfilling like create world peace, cure cancer, or "heal" the environment. That is likely not what you meant, so smaller scale I would love to learn to speak a foreign language fluently so I could travel and be able to see the real culture of the country I am visiting - not just the tourist side. I take for granted the wonderful life I have in the U.S. and would love to be able to understand what it is like to live in other countries with less opportunities. It is only when you really leave your "comfort zone" that you truly get to know who you are.
