Admission and Eligibility FAQs
Who can participate in the Seamless Admission Program?
Auburn University works with Auburn University at Montgomery to identify eligible students who applied for freshman admission to Auburn University but will not be offered traditional admission. This select group of students is invited to participate in the Seamless Admission program.
How does the admission process work?
Invited students interested in receiving more information about the program indicate their interest in Seamless Admission on the online interest form. After a student officially indicates interest, Auburn University forwards the student’s application and educational information to Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). In February, Seamless Admission sends, electronically and by regular mail, interested students more information about the program and how to reserve a space in the program. Invited students are not officially accepted into the program until they have paid a confirmation deposit to reserve their space. Since spaces in this very popular program are limited, students are urged to submit their interest and reserve their space as early as possible. The confirmation deposit will be accepted until May 1 or until the program is full (whichever date comes first).
How can I become eligible to take classes on the Auburn Campus?
If you do not meet the eligibility requirements to take classes on the Auburn Campus, you may opt to take the Math Placement exam or to send updated ACT or SAT test scores for reevaluation for campus choice. If I am denied admission to Auburn University on February 15th or after, will all the spots in the Seamless Admission program be taken by people who were denied admission before me in November and December?
No. Invitations are mailed out on a rolling basis starting in November and through early spring as admission decisions are being made by Auburn University. The majority of AU decisions are made on November 15, December 15, and February 15. Seamless decisions happen later. As of mid- to late February, everyone who has received an invitation and has expressed interest in attending the Seamless program will be sent instructions on how to submit a confirmation deposit to secure a seat in the program. This allows everyone an equal chance to secure a spot in the program, regardless of what date you receive your invitation.
Where do I send my updated ACT or SAT test scores?
If you have updated ACT or SAT test scores, please have them sent to AUM Admissions not AU Admissions. Please contact the Seamless Admission office in advance to notify us that updated scores are being sent. If updated test scores are sent accidentally to AU admissions, please notify the Seamless Admission office at 334-244-3460. You may send official ACT or SAT test scores to:

How are Seamless Classes offered?
How many semesters is the Seamless Admission program?
Will students have to re-submit official transcripts (high school/college) to AUM?
Classes are held on the AU campus only for the Fall and Spring semester. The AUM campus operates Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters to meet program requirements. However, if the 2.5 gpa/30-hour requirement is not met in the Fall and Spring terms, we will work with a student to attend summer school either at the AUM main campus or at an institution near home to finish program requirements, pending good academic standing.
Yes. Students do not have to re-submit their official transcripts to Auburn Montgomery until they graduate.The Auburn Montgomery Office of Admissions and Recruiting will work with the AU Admissions Office to obtain the initial transcript, ACT and/or SAT scores you have already sent to AU. Once the student graduates from high school please send an official final transcript to:

Do you accept dual enrollment or early enrollment credits?
Yes. Dual enrollment credits may be used towards the 30 semester hour requirement. However, please keep in mind if you are eligible and choose to take classes on the AU campus, classes are limited to only general core courses and those students with many dual enrollment or duplicate core credits may be subject to online courses to supplement their semester schedule. It may be difficult to obtain, on the AU campus, a full-time schedule if too many college credits are completed prior to the start of the program. Thus, a choice of the AUM campus may be more beneficial where classes are not as limited.
Do you accept AP or IB credit?
No. AP and IB credit will not count towards the 30-semester hour requirement.
Do I need to take the Math Placement Exam?
The Math Placement exam is an educational assessment tool used to assess a student's skill level in mathematics for students who score below a 20 in Math on the ACT or below a 540 in Math on the SAT. The results are used to determine appropriate course placement. You are only allowed to take the Math Placement exam twice with a 30 day wait period between the first and second test dates. Students are also allowed to take the Math Placement exam to be reevaluated for campus selection (if there is still place available on the AU campus). Pending a student's math placement, a not-for-credit developmental math course (s) (MATH 0700/0701 and/or MATH 0800/0801) may be required before a student is eligible to take a transferable core level math and may determine if a student is in the program 2 or 3 semesters. If a student is placed in a not-for-credit developmental math course(s), the student must successfully pass the course(s) before being allowed to take a transferable core math. What is a Developmental Course?
Developmental courses do not count towards your 30 credit hours nor are factored into your GPA, but are required courses for those who did not score high enough on the ACT, SAT, or Math Placement exam. If you scored below a 20/540 on the Math portion of the ACT/SAT, you are required to take the Math Placement exam. Pending a student's math placement, a not-for-credit developmental math course (s) (MATH 0700/0701 and/or MATH 0800/0801) may be required before a student is eligible to take a transferable core level math and may determine if a student is in the program 2 or 3 semesters. If a student is placed in a not-for-credit developmental math course(s), the student must successfully pass the course(s) before being allowed to take a transferable core math.
General Program FAQs
Where should Seamless Students send their completed FAFSA forms?
Because all Seamless Students will be enrolled at AUM for their first year, all financial aid documents, including FAFSA, should be sent to the AUM Financial Aid Office. Please handle all FAFSA forms and financial aid concerns prior to attending Orientation. Financial Aid staff will be on hand to answer any additional questions that day.
Will I be required to attend Seamless orientation?
Orientation is mandatory. Students confirmed for the Auburn campus attend orientation in Auburn. Those confirmed for the AUM campus attend orientation on the AUM campus.
If I am selected to take classes on the Auburn campus, what time will I take my classes?
Classes on the Auburn campus begin at 3 p.m. in the afternoon and last until at least 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Labs will vary depending on availability of lab space. We do not offer Friday classes. For more information click here.
If I choose to attend my classes at AUM, do I have to live on campus?
No. You do not have to live on-campus. However, AUM has excellent dorm-style living options that are available to all Seamless students. For more information click here.
Can Montgomery Campus Seamless Students take classes on the Auburn Campus with the other Seamless Students?
No. If you select to take your classes on the Montgomery Campus, you cannot take classes on the Auburn Campus.
Can Seamless Students utilize the academic support services available at Auburn? Can Seamless Students pledge an Auburn fraternity or sorority?
AU Academic Support provides tutoring specifically for Seamless students between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday thru Thursday in The Learning Commons (2nd Floor RBD Library); however, Seamless students do not receive tutoring from Study Partners until they are officially enrolled in Auburn University. Students may also seek tutoring in The Miller Writing Center (also located in the Learning Commons) during its regular hours of operation.
Due to Auburn University’s fraternity and sorority chapter regulations, you must be an Auburn University student to join a fraternity or sorority; however, Seamless students may join a fraternity or sorority their sophomore year after they receive their AU acceptance.
Can Seamless Students attend Auburn football games?
Yes. They may purchase regular admission football tickets through the Auburn Athletics ticket office; however, Seamless Students are not eligible to purchase seats in the Auburn Student Section.
Can Seamless Students participate in Auburn University bands and/or choral groups?
Yes. Seamless students are eligible to participate in all areas of the Auburn bands or choral groups with the exception of the Marching Band.
