Anthropology Professor Excavates Former Civil War Site in Arkansas

In honor of National Archaeology Day, AUM Assistant Professor of Anthropology Kim Pyszka traveled to Cane Hill, Ark., where she assisted with archaeological excavations at Historic Cane Hill. She helped the team research the architecture and identify artifacts at Cane Hill’s 1834 Methodist Manse, which has served as a Methodist church, Union headquarters during nearby Civil War battles, and as a residence.
