AUM students study in Mexico

Six AUM students are studying abroad in Mexico for the next month as part of an intensive Spanish language and cultural immersion program led by Associate Professor Pamela Long, coordinator of the World Languages and Cultures program. The following students are taking part in the four-week program in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico:

• Kimberly Rawls, international studies major

• Tonya Williams, liberal arts major

• Haeley DePace, international studies major

• Jasmyn Tutt, international studies major

• Jonathan Stephens, international studies major

• Susan Parker, liberal arts major

Designed to give students the equivalent of one year of in-class study in just four weeks, the program immerses participants in Spanish language and culture. They have the opportunity to live with a Mexican family and learn about Mayan culture through excursions to Maya cities and historical sites.
