New Student Orientation will help you to develop the skills to meet the challenges of college. Because you probably have many questions about AUM and college life in general, we have planned an orientation program especially for you. At orientation you can—
- Confirm your class schedule or register for classes. Note: Please contact your advisor for an appointment.
- Learn more about student services and activities.
- Learn about academic support services and campus life.
- Take campus tours.
- Meet upper-class students who will assist you in beginning your college experience.
All first-time freshmen and transfer students are required to attend. All new students will be charged a $125 non-refundable fee. This fee will automatically be added to your student account. For further information on frequently asked questions, please follow the link:

The support and understanding of family members can make a tremendous difference in your college experience and your success as a student. We strongly encourage your parents or other family members to attend with you. You will attend some activities together, but there will also be programs specifically designed to address their questions or concerns.

AUM has ample parking and does not charge students a parking fee. You may park in any location not designated as faculty/staff or handicapped parking.
You may reserve your textbooks at the AUM bookstore during orientation.
Dress casually and wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing some walking and be both indoors and outdoors during your time on campus.
Plan to stay for the entire program. Each component of the program is designed for a specific purpose.

What is the S.W.O.T. Team?
S.W.O.T. Team stands for the Successful Warhawks Orientation and Transitions Team. S.W.O.T. Team members are leaders on campus that help with the planning and execution of new student orientation and ensure new students become acclimated to the university and campus life.
