Bio
A native of Louisiana, Dr. Farrow spent a number of years in New Orleans where she earned her degrees in Russian History. She joined the Department of History in the fall of 1999 and is both the AUM College Bowl Coach and the faculty advisor for the History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta. Dr. Farrow's first book, Between Clan and Crown: The Struggle to Define Noble Property Rights in Imperial Russia, was published by University of Delaware Press in 2005. In the meantime, she has begun a new book project on Grand Duke Alexei's tour of the United States in 1871-72. Dr. Farrow has also published a number of articles including, "A Letter from the Grand Duke," New Orleans Magazine(February 2003);"Grand Duke Alexei and the Origins of Rex, 1872: Myth,Public Memory and the Distortion of History," Gulf South Historical Review (Fall 2002), "From Jackson Square to Red Square: Donald Renshaw and Famine Relief in Russia, 1921-1923," Louisiana History (Summer 2002), and "Peter the Great's Law of Single Inheritance: State Imperatives and Noble Resistance," Russian Review(July 1996).
